Our 2009 August Truth Hayley’s Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir was reviewed by The Prince of Pinot on the Pinotfile.com:
"Crafted under the direction of Tom Harlan. · Moderately deep ruby color in the glass. Lovely aromas of black cherry pie and baking spices. Soft and velvety on the palate, expanding in the mouth with generous and hi-tone flavors of black cherries, finishing with a kiss of oak. Good (+)."

Our wine continues to evolve and develop intensity as it matures over several years following bottling. In fact, for those of you who purchased our 2007 vintage, I have a couple of suggestions to give you – after two recent experiences with friends. We were invited for dinners at their homes over the past month or so – and brought along some of our 07 chardonnay and pinot noir.
At both dinners, we had almost identical experiences. First, we served our chilled Burgundian style Sonoma Coast chardonnay – accompanied by appetizers including cheeses, dips, hot delectables, etc. The wine was praised by dinner guests as being wonderfully unique – in that it didn’t taste like a typical over-oaked California chardonnay. Its high acidity provided Burgundian flavor notes and a crispness which melded so well with food.

A funny thing happened on the way to the vineyard...we added
“Cellars” to our name! Some friends asked if August Truth was a new religious sect – so we wanted to be sure to make it clear that our
only mission is to make GREAT WINE.
The 09 chardonnay and pinot noir have been harvested, crushed, pressed and are resting quietly in their French oak barrels until bottling in second half of 2010 – for release in August, 2011! Seems so far off! And the barrel samples taste so good already!!
Our 08 chardonnay was bottled in August – and the 08 pinot noir will be bottled in December.

Joined with friends to officially release our Hein Vineyard Pinot and Split Rock Vineyard Chardonnay! See the pics at right. The number 8 (as in August 8 release date) is a very lucky number and we feel equally lucky to be able to make wine from these stellar vineyards. Cheers!
